Help! Private posts

Hi,

I'm a new member, and, trying to be social, have sent some friendly messages to other newbies to try and make new friends. The private messages seem to be stuck in the outbox, and have not transferred to "sent messages". Does this mean I can't send private messages (as per the FAQ page), just that it takes time to happen, or that I need to do something to make it happen?

Also, when emailing another member, does the email go to their Yahoo mail, or where? How can I see my sent emails?

Sorry to be so ignorant, but I can't seem to work these things out, even on the FAQ.
